Gaming Adventure Update: IV

Hello everyone, last week was a very busy and exciting one. I have been playing a few games, with the most notable being the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Don’t worry, I’ll get to everything.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild

So, starting off with something on the Nintendo Switch is a game that isn’t really new or anything. I had, yet again, picked up Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I swear, this game feels like it gets better every time you play it. This is now the 4th time that I’m playing through the game, and it feels like I’m still enjoying it, even having played it on multiple occasions. There is something about the attention to detail in the design in the game, it’s quite nice and still manages to surprise me in many ways. It’s another one of those games that feels like you can discover something new with every playthrough. Anyways, Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still an amazing game. But that isn’t anything new.

Final Fantasy XIV – Fancy Blue Magic

After that endeavor, I went and messed around with Blue Mage on Final Fantasy XIV again. I personally like the class, but it’s incredible annoying to learn spells. The RNG is terrible. I think I spent around 3 hours trying to get Mountain Buster from Titan before I had to just stop. Some people seem to be a lot luckier than I am, but I feel that something like that is a little too ridiculous. I’m assuming that the rate of learning spells will eventually be patched, but as of this moment I would honestly just say that it can be so frustrating that it just ruins some of the appeal. For the next little while I’m going to be relatively busy, so, I guess I just don’t see myself wanting to stay with this one for long with the current RNG. It feels hard to tolerate.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

Last but not least, the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I had been playing this for quite a while, great game. I don’t know where I would throw it on the Resident Evil rankings board that I have locked inside of my head. I would say it’s a Top 5. Definitely a Top 5. It’s been pretty fun to play, though annoying in some aspects. The headshots thing can be an annoyance. I believe that the game has an adaptive difficulty, so, that means that if shoot enemies in the head too much they’ll start to take more bullets to that old cranium of theirs. It can create some very sponge-like encounters, which I feel is very frustrating. I do appreciate the overall aesthetics of the game, everything looks amazing and certain things can come off as very creepy. Overall, this game is great. A definite return to glory for the series.

More Resident Evil 2

So, that’s really it for now. Obviously, I popped in Civilization VI again, but, I’m not going to talk about that game anymore. It’s addicting, I’ll leave it at that. I’ll probably get to writing about the Resident Evil 2 remake at some point during the week. Like I said, it’s been pretty busy for me. I got a lot going on, but I’m trying to stay in the gaming loop. I’m pretty excited about the next few months, there is a lot of games that I want to play. I’m definitely looking forward to the new Far Cry and Metro: Exodus. I have high hopes for both of them. And sure enough, both of them release on the same day. So, I’ll get back here with something. Until next time, hope the week brings great things to everyone.
