So, it’s been another busy week. I got a few things that I’d like to get to. But, I would first like to mention one of the interesting pieces of news that stuck out to me. I’m talking, of course, about the news of Metroid Prime 4. Apparently, the game wasn’t up to par with Nintendo’s standards, so, they decided to scrap the game entirely and start development from scratch. When I saw this news, I was kind of disappointed. I had been looking forward to Metroid Prime 4 since I had first seen the initial trailer for it, so yeah, it sucks, but what can you do. I’ll at least commend Nintendo for realizing something isn’t great and axing it completely. It would have been even more disappointing to see the game come out and be trash, but, I don’t really think there was much on the game anyways. We don’t really know what exactly it was to begin with. So, it’ll just be left to a veil of mystery. And hopefully, whatever comes next for Metroid Prime 4 is amazing. I’ll keep my hopes up for that much at least. I’m sure Retro Studios will do the game justice.
Final Fantasy XIV
So beginning with the things that I’ve been playing lately, obviously I’m getting to Final Fantasy XIV. I participated in the ‘Valentione’s Day’ event. Which is essentially just a repeat of the event Square-Enix had for it last year. It’s something with running through a maze while you’re tethered to another person, and then playing a game of Go Fish. It’s not great. It was interesting when they had it last year, but now, I don’t know why they bothered to recycle it. Maybe they were proud of this…I’m not sure. Anyways, I did it twice and that was more than enough for me. Disappointing. That’s all I’m going to say here.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends
Moving on, I tried The Elder Scrolls: Legends. I don’t really know what to say about this one. You toss your cards down and then attack the other player with them to damage their health and cards. It’s an alright game. It’s free, so it’s hard to complain. Maybe if I was more into this sort of thing, I could appreciate it more. I tried it, it didn’t really pull me in all that much. But again, there isn’t any harm to trying it. I believe The Elder Scrolls: Legends will release at some point in 2019, so, if you’re someone who enjoys dabbling in these kind of card games, then hey, why not give it a go.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Last, but not least, I played a lot more Breath of the Wild. I’m considering writing about this game. I know it’s not new or anything, but there really is something about it that makes me feel like I should just toss my full-fledged thoughts about the game anyways. I absolutely adore the game. There is just this high level of immersion that I don’t think I’ve felt in a game since I had playing something like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It’s just that good. There are so many little things that you can overlook that it’s kind of amazing. It’s one of the best games that I’ve played in terms of actual exploration content. I know people have been on Bethesda for the Fallout 76 debacle, but, this was kind of what I felt Bethesda did a really good job at. Making you feel like you’re living in the world. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild also seems to achieve this. It’s just fantastic, and I don’t think that I can toss enough positivity at this aspect. I love it.
So, that’s really it for now. As I said last week, it’s been busy. It’ll probably be busy for the next while here, but, things will continue on. I’m still looking forward to Metro: Exodus, and Far Cry. I’ll most likely be playing Metro: Exodus when it comes out. I’m not sure about when I’ll be getting to Far Cry, probably wouldn’t be much later. Anyways, until next time. I’ll get back with something soon!
